The material's pretty dark, considering this was probably meant to be a kids movie, but what really stands out to me is the chant. The cant is indeed dark, gloomy, hypnotizing and haunting. I heard it once, a quarter of a century ago and still can't get it out of my head.

It seems to me the music is very much inspired by the Carmina Burana. One of my favorite movie scenes ever. Is nt the temple supposed to be located somewhere in the middle of London? Whenever I'm in London and walk around all those big old buildings, I like to think that there are temples like this one inside.
