3 pencils? Yes..especially if you didn't know that they are different shades beforehand. Once you know that they are different shades and you put 3 pencils on there, most people say that the far left looks very slightly lighter than the far right.

It's really simple. I just added a link in the description to easy directions on how to make it yourself. Check it out. It's just 4 hues on the PS pallet. You can try it with different colors too (as long as they are slightly darker hues from left to right)...hope this helps!

You have to view it with one eye. (regarding dragon head illusion, when this reply is emailed to you) That's part of what makes this video so convincing. It actually requires one point of perspective (not binocular / stereo vision). Use a cardboard tube if you have to.
