@stainermcbain I agree. I'm also a polyglot (knows 9 languages/ speaks 6 languages). And it is interesting to read the bible in 9 different langauges. :) Bible is one of those amazing books that has translation in more than 200 languages.

They're all very helpful, but this one reveals an important strategic lesson: It's more efficient to learn multiple languages all at once, dividing time for each during the day, than it is to study only one until it is "mastered", and only then moving on to the next one, and so on. In 10 years time, the first, concurrent, approach will give you more polyglottery then the second, sequential strategy.

I think this is one of the most valuable videos in Alexander's uploaded set. They are all quite helpful, but for those who want to seriously embark on a personal project/journey of learning multiple languages, this vid reveals a most important strategic lesson: It's more efficient to study multiple languages all at once, dividing time during the day to each, than to study one for years until it is mastered, only then moving on to the next one on your list.

No don't get discouraged by what he's saying rid... The thing that you don't get is that the reason why ProfA is able to spend so much time on all this is because he has a PASSION for it. Believe me anything u have a passion for u can do all day long without ever getting tired or bored. Doesn't mean u HAVE to work like this to learn another language. I only work 15-30 min per day on only one language that I love and I've gotten pretty good at it in only a few months. Doesn't feel like work.

I'm from Paraguay.. Asuncion and we do have a lot of indian people in our country but is not the most of our poblation!!! It's so sad for tha I don't speak very good Guarani. I don't think you have ever been to Paraguay. I have lived there for two years and will go back soon. Paraguayans are very proud of their ancestors but you wouldn't understand them because you never have been there. Paraguay has a very rich history including German history!!!!!!!!!! Most are not indigious as shown in this video, people would be very surprised to go to Asuncion and see that most people look like my ancestors that are from Norway.

I recommend learning to dance. Specifically, lead and follow based dancing like salsa, swing, tango etc... I know from experience it will help you develop in the areas you specifically identify. Invest in private lessons or even try to get a job at a ballroom studio (depending on where you live, they might not even charge for initial training). Learning to dance has been invaluable for me, and i was initially opposed to the entire idea and hated dancing, so go figure...

I agree with you. One of the skills in the New Code of NLP is learning how to enter into know-nothing-states. I have approached several university faculties to set up a test to demonstrate the effectiveness of NLP for phobic response. I use NLP regularly on clients and have dealt with phobias often. The fastest cure was 4 minutes. The longest took 8 hours. Every faculty I approach dismisses this out of hand. I've come to the conclusion that the funding structure actually works against proving it. Can it really be that they prefer to get funding to study phobics, rather than see them "cured" quickly?

No...This is not scientology...This is all about modelling excellence...For example, if a person gets up early in the morning by 5 am daily on a consistent basis, using NLP you can find out how that person did that on a consistent basis...That is, what are his thought processes, how did he use his physiology, what are his beliefs etc...Once you find that you can take that and do it for yourself.. You will also produce the same kind of result similar to the person who did that earlier..

The point is, nothing makes empiricism special, but the challenge to you is...what is the preferred alternative? Empiricism is special simply because it is the best we've got. It is better than falling victim the the various biases and fallacies that can influence unsophisticated reasoning. This is not to say that empiricism cannot err or that there are not truths that are true despite the fact that science cannot verify them. But it has done pretty darn good I'd say.
